Disclosure scope
This Affiliate Disclosure explains how Car Facts UK deals with affiliate links, referral arrangements and advertising.
Where a commercial relationship exists, our aim is to make that relationship clear without allowing it to influence the vehicle information or report results we provide.
Section 01
When Car Facts UK may earn commission
Car Facts UK may include links, buttons or offers that lead to products or services supplied by another business. Some of those links may be affiliate or referral links.
If you follow an eligible affiliate link and later complete a qualifying action with that provider, such as making a purchase, requesting a quote or taking out a service, Car Facts UK may receive a commission or referral payment.
A commercial relationship does not make the external provider part of Car Facts UK. The provider remains responsible for its own products, services, prices, eligibility rules, terms and customer journey.
Section 02
How affiliate advertising is identified
We aim to make commercial content recognisable at the point it matters, rather than relying on this disclosure page alone.
Where content is advertising or is directly connected with an affiliate arrangement, we may use clear labels such as Ad, Advert or similarly clear wording alongside the relevant content or link.
Clear before you act
The purpose of a disclosure label is to help you understand that a commercial relationship exists before or when you engage with the relevant advertising.
Section 03
What commission means for you
Any commission payable to Car Facts UK is arranged between Car Facts UK and the external business or referral partner.
If you choose to use an eligible affiliate link, the provider may pay Car Facts UK a commission. Car Facts UK does not add a separate affiliate fee to your purchase. The provider sets the price, offer, eligibility and product terms shown on its website.
Section 04
Editorial independence
Commercial relationships do not determine the conclusions we present about a vehicle or the factual information shown in Car Facts UK vehicle-check content.
We do not alter editorial conclusions simply because a company pays commission, offers a referral arrangement or advertises through Car Facts UK.
Where we discuss or link to an external commercial service, you should still make your own decision about whether that service is appropriate for you.
Section 05
Vehicle reports remain independent
Affiliate arrangements are separate from the vehicle data and history information used to produce Car Facts UK checks and reports.
An affiliate relationship does not change a vehicle's MOT or tax information, recorded history, risk signals, report findings or other factual results presented by Car Facts UK.
We will not improve, suppress or rewrite a vehicle result in order to encourage the purchase of an external product or service.
Section 06
Financial and regulated products
Some external links may relate to products such as vehicle finance, insurance or other regulated financial services.
Car Facts UK is not providing personal financial advice by displaying or linking to an external financial product. Product information, eligibility, pricing, regulatory disclosures and contractual terms are the responsibility of the relevant provider or intermediary.
Financial promotions are subject to specific legal and regulatory requirements. Where applicable, promotional material must be presented in a way that is fair, clear and not misleading.
You should review the provider's current information and regulatory status before entering into a financial-services agreement.

Privacy and referral tracking
Affiliate and referral systems can use cookies, link information or similar technologies to attribute a visit or qualifying action to the website that referred the customer.
Where storage or access technologies require consent, the applicable consent rules must be followed. Our Cookies Policy explains how Car Facts UK approaches browser storage, similar technologies and your choices.
If you leave Car Facts UK and visit an external provider, that provider is responsible for explaining its own privacy, cookie and data-handling practices.
Section 08
Advertising and consumer-law standards
Car Facts UK aims to present commercial relationships transparently and in a way that does not mislead customers about why particular advertising or referral content is being shown.
The unfair-commercial-practices provisions of the Digital Markets, Competition and Consumers Act 2024 apply to commercial practices from 6 April 2025 and replaced and updated the previous Consumer Protection from Unfair Trading Regulations 2008 framework.
Affiliate advertising is also subject to advertising rules requiring marketing communications to be recognisable as advertising.
Section 09
