A paid report can include vehicle identity, MOT history, tax status, mileage evidence, outstanding finance, write-off or salvage markers, stolen and scrap indicators, import or export information, recalls, valuation, technical specifications, tyres and other history data where returned for that vehicle.

Stripe may place a temporary authorisation on your card while the registration and report availability are checked. Your banking app may show the amount as pending or reduce your available balance even though Car Facts UK has not yet kept the payment. If the registration cannot be verified or the report cannot be generated, the authorisation is released; if the payment has already completed, it is refunded in full. In either case, Car Facts UK keeps no payment when no report is produced. The time it takes to disappear or return depends on your bank.

A report is normally generated immediately after a successful payment or credit redemption. A provider interruption or an unavailable vehicle record can delay or prevent completion; contact support if the expected report does not appear.

The first report is generated during checkout. Remaining credits are saved automatically when you are signed in. Guest buyers must create an account or sign in with the same checkout email so the unused credits can be attached to their dashboard.

No. Unused report credits do not expire. Once saved to your Car Facts UK account, they remain available until you redeem them. This is separate from the retention period for provider data inside a report that has already been generated.

If the account already contains a paid report for the same registration, Car Facts UK opens that existing report and does not deduct another report credit.

Refund eligibility depends on what happened and whether digital report data was successfully generated or supplied. The Refund Policy explains the applicable conditions and how to request a review.

The checkout email receives a secure link to the generated report. If the purchase included unused bundle credits, create an account or sign in with that same email address to attach the remaining credits to the dashboard.

Yes. Paid vehicle reports and compare reports can be shared using the available secure sharing option. A shared link uses a temporary token and expires after 48 hours.

No. A shared link opens only the report authorised by its temporary token. It does not sign the visitor into your account or reveal the rest of your dashboard.

Sign in to the dashboard to open reports linked to your account, view unused report credits and access your saved vehicles in My Garage.

Sign in and open My Garage from your dashboard. Save the vehicle you want to monitor, then open Reminder Centre. Turn on Email Reminder Alerts, choose how many days before the MOT or vehicle-tax deadline you want to be notified, and select Save Reminder Settings. Keep the vehicle saved in My Garage so monitoring can continue.

Coverage depends on the records returned for the individual registration by official services and approved data providers. Car Facts UK does not invent a value, copy information from another vehicle or turn missing evidence into a positive or negative result.

No. The full vehicle identification number is not displayed in the report, email, dashboard or shared-report view. Where available and appropriate, limited VIN evidence such as final digits or a match indicator may be shown instead.

Open an eligible paid Car Facts UK report or the same report from your dashboard. Find VIN Match Check, enter the full 17-character VIN shown on the vehicle or V5C, and submit it. Car Facts UK returns the available match or no-match result against the stored provider record where VIN verification data is available. The stored full VIN is not displayed.

A paid report may include genuine outstanding-finance records when they are returned by the approved vehicle-history source for that registration. No finance result is invented or assumed when the source does not supply one.

Recall information may be included where it is supplied by an approved source. Recall status can change, so use the relevant manufacturer or official recall service when making a safety decision.

No. ULEZ, Clean Air Zone, LEZ and ZEZ schemes can use different locations, vehicle classes, emissions rules, exemptions and charges. Select the relevant scheme and confirm any payable charge with its official service before travelling.

Paid provider data may be removed after the required retention period. Transaction records, audit evidence and limited MOT or tax information used for customer reminders can have different retention requirements, as explained in the Privacy Policy.

Limited MOT and tax information can be retained separately so signed-in customers can monitor dates and use reminder features in My Garage or the Reminder Centre. This is distinct from retaining the wider paid provider response.

Include the email address used for checkout and, where relevant, the registration number, report reference and a concise description of what went wrong. Never send payment-card details or your account password.
